BSNL announces special plan for paramilitary personnel PDF Print E-mail

State-run Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) is bullish on its enterprise segment and has set a target of Rs 3,202 crore from it during the current financial year.
"Our scheme launched today for paramilitary jawans is part of Enterprise business division. We expect revenue of this segment to reach Rs 3202 crore in FY12," RK Upadhyay, chairman and managing director, of BSNL said,
The company today announced two plans for the paramilitary forces. The two plans announced by the company will offer paramilitary personnel free talk time for 20 minutes on any two BSNL numbers throughout the country. This facility will be available free of cost even on roaming. Around 9 lakh paramilitary jawans are going to benefit from the plans. The two plans launched are the paramilitary plan and the officer plan for the jawans and officers respectively.
In emergency situations, without road connectivity, phone is the only medium they connect with their family. "We highly appreciate this welcome gesture of BSNL," Raman Srivastava, director general, Border Security Forces said. Apart from this, the new plan will offers reduced calling charges of 20 paise per min on any two BSNL numbers, be it mobile or landline for the jawans. The Paramilitary Plan is available on both 2G and 3G network. On 3G network, paramilitary personnels will be offered video calls at the rate  Rs 70 paisa per minute. Apart from the two plans, BSNL also announced an economical package for the personnel at fixed monthly charges (FMC) of Rs 99 including tax. Under this plan, paramilitary personnel can make calls at 1 paisa per second pulse besides freebies. Out of Rs 99 FMC, the paramilitary personnel can have additional talk time worth Rs 75 per month. This scheme will be available on pre-paid plans wherein jawans can recharge their mobiles using vouchers.
